Today we mourn the loss of a “member” of the so called “Club 27”: Amy Winehouse.
The exceptional talent was a British soul singer and songwriter. Amy Winehouse’s international breakthrough came in 2006 with the album Back to Black. She sold 33.2 million records during her career and was awarded six Grammy Awards.
The Beehive hairstyle was her visual hallmark.
On July 23, 2011 Amy Winehouse was found dead from alcohol poisoning. She tragically joins the “Club 27” – a series of well-known musicians who died at the age of only 27. Other “members” include Brian Jones († 1969), Jimi Hendrix († 1970), Janis Joplin († 1970), Jim Morrison († 1971) and Kurt Cobain († 1994).
