Today in 1810 Robert Schumann was born in Zwickau in Sachsen.
As a composer, conductor and also music critic, he is one of the most important musicians from the Romantic era. He wrote everything from small piano pieces to an entire opera (Genoveva).
But Robert Schumann also had a very musical partner: In 1840 he married Clara Wieck. We all still know her face well from the 100-DM-note 😉
